Yuriy P. - 16/Apr/2020 5 of 5 Stars!
Have you heard “SWW” yet? Well, you give, read these lines and faster to the store! The band’s first really strong album, after which the whole press spoke respectfully about the band. Of course, the influence of commerce is felt here, but this does not negatively affect the music. Of course, I love the band’s first album, and I love the album “7800 degrees”, but “SWW” is just a new milestone in the work of the group, and of the whole AOR and 80s glam. As for the music itself, the album turned out to be more even than its predecessor, and the general mood of the album has clearly changed. “7800” was an album in the mood of the first half of the 80s. A piercing motif showed us some night streets from the first “Terminator”, “SWW” is clearly different in this regard, this is such a concert album, when you listen to it you feel that music is passing through you, and all these night streets are flooded with glamorous lanterns . The introductory “Let It Rock” does not make the proper impression, after it seems that the album is as gray as its cover. But everything changes with the beginning of the second song, “You Give Love a Bad Name”, you feel that the explosion with which the song begins begins from within you. Here he is, the band’s first really hit, not including Runaway, of course. The most interesting thing is that you can’t say that the guitar solo is interesting, it's simple, but still the song takes you to the limit. Well, further, further - “Livin 'on a Prayer”, recognized as the BEST SONG of the 80s. A song argued by Sambora and Bon Jovi. As a result, as John himself said, the song was stuck in an already leaving train. And there was a real explosion, I must say a world-wide explosion in order to understand, I advise you to listen to yourself. The text of the song is suitable for everyone, people listening to the song say what is sung about them. This is not just a story told in a song, it is a story about everyone. The most interesting thing is that the lyrics of “It's My Life”, with which Bon Jovi blew up the masses in the 2000s, mention the very same Tommy and Gina - the main characters in “Livin 'on a Prayer”. By the way, the solo here is much tastier. And so far, Bon Jovi is opening every concert with the song “Livin 'on a Prayer” and non-stop moving on to the song “You Give Love a Bad Name”. Let's move on to the third hit from this album, “Wanted Dead оr Alive,” in which Sambora takes a 12-string guitar, and we are immersed in the idea of the Wild West, and, naturally, about cowboys. From myself, I would advise you to definitely listen to “I'd Die for You”. We can say that this is a ballad in hard style. Indeed, when you listen to this song, you feel that you are really ready to die, rush at any moment, this song fills with decisiveness, it turns a person on. The solo is delicious. Of the minuses, it should be noted that it starts with the same notes as “Breaking the Law” by Judas Priest. The 9th song is “Never Say Goodbye”, this is the first real ballad of the group, followed by “Always”, and then the half-album “These Days”. It is pleasant to listen to, while listening to a person it begins to swing from side to side to the beat of the music. Well, he completes the Wild in the Streets album, which is something in common between Chuck Berry's Jhonny Be Good and Van Halen's Jump. Very playful rock and roll keyboard. The lightness that pervades the song is felt, and this lightness is passed on to us. Bon Jovi makes “Wild in the Streets” not the ending of the album, but the bridge between “Slippery When Wet” and “New Jersey”. On the whole, it turned out to be a very strong album, more even and with a completely different mood than its predecessors. The best album of not only the year, but of the entire 80s, according to international estimates. All fans of hair metal are required to audition.
